Facebook reported Q4 2012 revenue of $1.59 billion today, well above Wall Street analysts' expectations of $1.53 billion. Why did the experts get it wrong? It's a legitimate question because, with some simple back-of-the-envelope math and a couple of phone calls, Business Insider predicted Facebook revenue would come in well above $1.53 billion before the earnings were released.
